| Final Stop: AMD Meeting with old timer Bernard Seďté is always a great moment and today he was very happy with the latest Gartner market share numbers. According to the latter, AMD's France market share is now reaching the 30% target. France is the first country to offers such good numbers and, if things continue that well, UK and Germany should follow soon. On the 8-way Opteron scaling problem, Bernard insisted on the fact that it's a marginal problem happening on very few applications and that should be totally overcomed in a near future thanks to the "probe" technology liek the one used at Newisys in the "ExtendiScale architecture". Last word was about HyperTransport technology which has a lot of headroom and could be accelerated with a factor of 2.5! Time to go now. Great show and looking forward to joining the 2006 edition... |
