Ferrari Licensing Fiesta helps AMD
In the race for public awareness, AMD is struggling to enhance a poor image of Intel's underdog and has focused on sponsoring sporting events to refresh a blurred public perception. After European soccer and rugby, AMD struck a bit stronger with a sensational partnership deal with Ferrari Team. At AMD, the constant comparison of chip power with car's one coupled with the ability of AMD chip to run faster with a lower engine RPM could not lead to another choice. Smart move after all! Ferrari team became world champion for 2 consecutive years and started with 1st and 2nd places in the first race, in Australia, of the 2004 season!
But there are more reasons for the company to be satisfied with that deal. The constant flow of good results and legendary professionalism of Ferrari team and champions has considerably helped developing another merchandising market where AMD has its place at no additional cost! The licensing market is welcoming the brand with an obvious enthusiasm and, from kids to scale models-makers grand fathers, the world of miniature is also spreading the AMD logo on all sort of cute replicas.
As genuine AMD fans, we have collected some of the most emblematic icons of this sudden and unexpected glory. From Lego to scale models, it's surely today the most unusual showcase seen on a computer-related site for a long time... AMD deserves it and, above all, going back to infancy is a rare pleasure that can't be refused...
...Hope you'll forgive us ;)
