VA-Technologies announce a full range of 64 bit capable
FireStorm Visual workstations based on AMD Opteron
Processors and NVIDIA nForce3 platform.
VA-Technologies a leading High Performance Solutions provider today announced its new Max Black FireStorm visual workstation range based on the AMD Opteron 64-bit processor. The FireStorm workstations will be available in single processor and dual processor configurations
The FireStorm workstation range has been engineered to take advantage of the innovations of the AMD Opteron processor and features an integrated memory controller and
HyperTransport bus technology to increase overall performance by removing or reducing I/O bottlenecks, increasing bandwidth and reducing latency. This makes the FireStorm the ideal workstation platform for DCC, application development and other memory intensive applications
and provides an entry into 64-bit computing whilst providing full 32 bit application compatibility.
The single processor workstations will be based around the new nForce3 platform technology from nVidia. nVidia nForce3 Professional incorporates advanced platform technology solutions-including enterprise-class networking functionality, fault tolerant storage designs and a single unified driver architecture-that are paramount to providing a compatible, stable, and reliable platform for professional workstation computing.
Dual processors workstations will be based on AMD chipset technology and will be optimized for nVidia Quadro graphics solutions, They will feature AGP Pro 110 8X, integrated four channel SATA, two independent PCI-X buses, Gigabit Ethernet, Firewire and Audio.
The FireStorm range of workstations will initially be available pre-loaded with SUSE Linux 8.2 for x86-64 technology or with Mandrake Linux 9.0 for AMD 64-bit. Microsoft Windows based platform will be available later in the year. VA-Technologies will also have a range of Servers based on
AMD Opteron processors. |
