Tatung, Tatung delivers one of the worlds first Dual Blade-Servers with the new AMD Opteron Processor
Features • Optimized performance for 32-Bit code and 64-Bit code • Smooth migration on 64-Bit • Direct Connect architecture for high scaling and I/O achievement
Tatung, a leading manufacturer of high quality PC - and Server Solutions, is pleased to announce that it is one of the first worldwide companies to produce a high Performance Blade Server based on the new, powerful Low-Power AMD Opteron Processor with Direct Connect Architecture. In the coming weeks, the Blades will also be equipped with standard Power AMD Opteron Processors.
Doubled Performance Based on the new AMD Opteron processor, Tatung can offer increased Server performance and lower power consumption. The modularity of Blade Technology, the easy management and the wireless connection between the server blades, switches and server management, combined with high performance AMD Opteron Processors enables advances in high performance computing. The increasing demand on 64-Bit-Applications will be seamlessly supported by Tatungs latest Blade-Technology.
Applications E-Commerce-Applications, ERP, CRM and Database-Applications will capitalize on the increased performance, scalability and availability of the new Blade Server Solution. Also Applications like CAD, commercial and financial applications will benefit from the higher data throughput by receiving results faster.
”We believe that Tatung’s new server blade solution will greatly benefit all customers who are looking for scalable, reliable and energy efficient server solutions,” said Gianluca Degliesposti, Director Servers and Workstations, Sales and Business Development EMEA at AMD. “The Low Power AMD Opteron processor with its Direct Connect Architecture offers an ideal solution for highly scalable server blades. The integrated memory controller and high speed HyperTransport interconnects are designed to remove the bottlenecks that have traditionally stalled the scalability of x86 based server blades. Additionally the reduced power consumption of the Low Power AMD Opteron processor provides great performance while preserving energy and allowing more efficient and energy saving cooling solutions. |
