Earlier news here ======================================= 01/09/03 - SiS746FX chipset review OCworkbench is reviewing the SiS reference board with SiS746FX chipset and SiS963L south bridge (does not support FireWire or IEEE1394). Tested with Athlon XP 2400+ against KT400 and nForce2, the board shows impressive results in some benchmarks like Business Winstone 2001. But will it it be enough against nForce2? As explained there, differente versions of the board already exists: The basic one with no audio is 7X, on-board 2 channel sound is 7X-2A, 6 channel audio (5.1) is 7X-6A and finally, 7X-L is the one with on-board LAN. This one has no stand alone memory, like the SiS Game Union has, but provides an AGP 8X bus where a new graphic card can be connected if required.
