The motherboard maker MSI is offering poll on its site and one of them shed some light about consumers' expectations. At question
"What hardware do you want the most in 2003?" we had the following answers:
AMD New K8 64-bit CPU -- 2228 Votes 58 %
VIDIA GeForceFX Video Card -- 1012 Votes 26 %
DVD-RW Drive -- 252 Votes 7 %
Intel Next Generation P4 CPU -- 220 Votes 6 %
DDR II Memory -- 91 Votes 2 %
Tablet PC -- 46 Votes 1 %
Pretty impressive score where AMD got 10 times more interest than Intel. You too cast you vote

- Samsung announces 4 gigabyte DDR!
After being first to offer 1GB DDR in December 2002, Samsung strikes again with 4GB module. Based on Samsung's 0.10-micron technology the DDR is planned to be mass produced in H2 2003. Read more about it

Vince Freeman at Hardware Central is boiling for
Barton. With bigger cache, higher speed (PR rating), DDR 400 and Sparkling nForce2, Vince thinks that the new comer could give Intel a good run for its money : "If AMD hits Barton's February release date, it could put a definite crimp in Intel's sales totals, along with gaining the profit margins it needs to remain competitive".
