04/22/03 - nVidia nForce3 for Opteron preview
The news is just out and Bjorn3D managed to offers us the first preview of the nForce3 chipset for Opteron workstation. Thanks to this work, we learn that nVidia will be releasing two versions namely  nForce 3 Pro 150 (out now) and nForce 3 Pro 250 (coming fall 03) and that many integrators are already planning to use the chipset in their professional workstations. After Mandrake in March and before Red Hat, SuSe is releasing its Opteron version of  its flagship Linux Operating System. 04/16/03 - AMD reports smaller-than-expected-loss
AMD today reported sales of $715 million and a net loss of $146 million for the quarter ended March 30, 2003. The net loss amounted to $0.42 per share. First quarter sales declined by 21 percent from the first quarter of 2002 and increased by four percent from the fourth quarter of 2002. In the first quarter of 2002, AMD reported total sales of $902 million and a net loss of $9 million, or $0.03 per share. In the fourth quarter of 2002, AMD reported sales of $686 million and a net loss of $855 million, or $2.49 per share. Read the rest
