In 1978, IBM scientists predicted Moore's Law had only 10 years left. When they got to 1988, they said it would end in 10 years again. Moore himself thought it would end at 250-nanometer manufacturing, a landmark the industry passed in 1997". The processors are slated for application in IBM, Sun and Egenera servers". Enjoy the rest here ____________________________________________ 04/19/05 - Dual Core: Genuine licensing mess... We all remember the AMD triumphing press release when Microsoft announced that he would only charge for one license per dual-core chip but Computer Weekly is revealing today that it is not going to be as easy as we hoped it would: "Microsoft and Red Hat will charge per system processor, irrespective of the number of cores. BEA intends to charge a 25% additional fee for dual-core, rather than doubling the fee. But Oracle and IBM Informix will charge per processor core".
