- Dell Will Join Opteron Party, AMD CEO Says
Dell aboard? Dream or reality? We've been following the passionate AMD-DELL relationship for quite some time but today, on Opteron first birthday, it sound more true than ever as explained at eWeek today here: "At an event here Thursday marking the one-year anniversary of the launch of the processor, Ruiz, chairman and CEO of Opteron maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc., said it's in Dell's nature to follow industry trends, and as more customers push for Opteron-based systems, Dell will surely jump into the fray."

- Standard & Poor's Ratings affirms AMD rating
A better rating is always a great sign of financial healing and, even though, AMD's debt is high, S&P sees obvious signs of improvement as Reuters reports here "Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it affirmed its 'B-' corporate credit rating on Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD); all other ratings are affirmed. The outlook is revised to positive from negative, recognizing AMD's stabilizing cash flows as the company's product portfolio has improved in recent quarters"

- Intel & AMD take dispute to US Supreme Court
The judicial war between the chip lords is heating up and AMD is now asking Supreme Court to force Intel to disclose some EU documents proving an anticompetitive behaviour in Europe: "AMD, however, will argue that the existing law does not specify whether a formal investigation must be under way. Therefore, if evidence of anticompetitive behaviour exists, Intel must provide the documents as part of a investigation into the complaint". Read more here

Investing more dollars in the emerging market AMD is now betting 5M$ that Indian programming mecca Bengalore will help producing next gen microcode for coming ships:
