05/01/03 - Ruiz sees second-half chip industry recovery
The chief executive of Advanced Micro Devices , the No. 2 maker of microprocessors, said Thursday that a long-awaited recovery in the semiconductor market should arrive later this year. There has been a rumor floating around the internet that using Arctic Silver on an AMD processor voids the warranty on that chip. AMD today announced the promotion of two key sales executives in its Asia Pacific and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions.  Kazuo Sakai has been named group vice president, sales and marketing, Asia Pacific. Giuliano Meroni has been appointed group vice president, sales and marketing, EMEA, and Worldwide Distribution.

04/23/03 - AMD appoints Richard Heye and Marty Seyer
AMD today announced it has appointed Richard Heye and Marty Seyer to co-lead its Computation Products Group's (CPG) newly consolidated Microprocessor Business Unit.
The restructuring effectively combines AMD's business and product planning, product management, product marketing and brand management, customer and business development activities, with the technical marketing, field marketing, business operations, partner, infrastructure and communications support teams for CPG. The new group will consist of approximately 850 employees worldwide. Together, Heye and Seyer will have a 15-member leadership team reporting directly to them.
