The Sale Shark is a rugby club based in Stockport UK which had the privilege to get AMD as main sponsor as listed here. Thanks to this deal you can now see AMD logo on great looking long sleeves shirt you may order here ____________________________________________ 07/02/04 - AMD Processor pictures of the day! 1 - AMD Sempron mobile 2600+ at 1.6GHz - 130nm 2 - AMD Athlon 64 90nm (compare with the above one) 3 - AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Barton Core (funny color no?) 4 - Sempron 3100+ 1.8GHz (x86 on socket 754) 5 - AMD PCI Express roadmap (interesting though) ____________________________________________ 07/02/04 - Iwill 8-way Opteron Server Eagle-eyed Saxplayer0001 from Yahoo! AMD board has, again, put his hands on a very intriging page from Iwill Spain showing the SuperServer 5Uo8248z 8-Way server with no less than Opteron 248, 16GB memory and 4 160GB hard-disk. Let's bet that this beast is going to squeeze the benchmarks like nothing we've seen before. First, like Sun, Cray has caught on that it can differentiate in the market by adopting the Opteron processors from Advanced Micro Devices. ". More here ____________________________________________ 07/01/04 - New NVIDIA Linux drivers for x86 and AMD64 Never resting NVIDIA has just posted a new Linux driver release rated 1.0-6106 for x86 and AMD64. Among other improvement it has added support for GeForce 6800 series of GPUs, PCI-Express, GLSL,ACPI OpenGL Shading Language, GL_EXT_pixel_buffer_object, 4kstack kernels and fixed problem that prevented 32-bit kernel driver from running on certain AMD64 CPUs. A lucky Taiwanese site had the chance to be the first to release a photo and benchmark of the upcoming Sempron 3100+. The processor OPN is SDA3100AIP3AX and has 256KB of L2 cache for a frequency set at 1.8GHz with multiplier at 9. Tested on nForce3 250 board the CPU managed to reach 192 on the CPUmark, 3703 on PCMark04, 10373 on 3DMark and made the 4M PI iterations in 4mn15". HP Compaq nx9105 notebook is announced with an Athlon XP-M 3000+ which is not in AMD catalog, and strangely, the CPUID of this unknown XP-M version reveals to be an Athlon 64 Clawhammer with no x86-64 instruction set and 256KB L2 cache just like upcoming Mobile Sempron mobile. In a today's document coming from stock market analyst Susquehanna Financial Group (SIG) Dell is now preparing the release of two Opteron servers that could be the first step toward a wider partnership. Of course this is not the first time we have this kind of news and it must be taken with extreme caution until we get an official confirmation. ____________________________________________ 06/29/04 - New hot topics at AMDboard! 1 - Sempron Special: The latest regarding the processor 2 - Bugs and flaws Special: AMD and Intel at their best... 3 - Cray Special: All about the latest AMD love story 4 - Prescott Survival Kit: The funniest PR ever! 5 - NVIDIA nForce4 Chipset Special and SLI Technology ____________________________________________ 06/28/04 - Motherboards, barebones, notebooks reviews 1 - MSI KM4M-L µATX VIA KM400A at ExtremeMHz 2 - Asus A8N8X-E nForce2 Ultra 400 at Hexus - Price 3 - Shuttle AN51R nForce3 250Gb socket 754 at T-Break 4 - Voodoo M:860 Athlon 64 notebook at Trusted Reviews 5 - Gigabyte K8NNXP Socket 754 at Sharky Extreme - Price 6 - EPoX 8KDA3+ Socket 754 at Extreme Tech - Price 7 - Wow! eMachine M6805C Athlon 64 notebook at 1170$ 8 -HP-Compaq (dz354u) Athlon 64 notebook at 1299$ ____________________________________________ 06/28/04 - Alienware to offer Athlon 64 notebook soon We had a quick chat with Alienware commercial rep and after asking about the possible release of an Athlon 64 notebook, we received the following answer: "Yes, it is very likely that we are probably going to release one sometime this year.
