Evan Lieb from Anantech has a extensive A7V8X test and he gives us a mixed conclusion:
"Our first impression of the ASUS A7V8X was very good... clearly DDR400 performance isn't all that exciting; in fact, it falls behind its own DDR333 performance numbers in addition to other DD333-powered boards" Read here and go for seven other reviews here

- Mobo makers optimistic for September
DigiTimes has a new about a rather optimistic forecast for month-on-month motherboards sales:
"Foreign investment firm Goldman Sachs estimated in its latest report that overall motherboard shipments in September will increase from the previous month, but the growth should be less than 10%". Read the news here

- Intel 3GHz earlier than expected?
Nano fly roaming around like a tsetse found a pretty interesting delivery note at HardOCP. Coming from Best Buy it shows the delivery date of 11/03/02 for six 3GHz PC with 512MB and 200GB HD... Wow! Intel does not want to miss its last Christmas ;)

'Even today, however, you can't call the shares cheap. Estimates have come down to the 50-cent range, with a financial update expected from Intel on Thursday. So at around $16, Intel trades for roughly 32 times likely 2002 earnings. In other words, it's not even down to the peak of its pre-bull market valuation. "My price target is $7," says my longtime Intel source".
