- Why Intel's will use AMD64 extensions
"Microsoft will not support a different 64 bit platform, and frankly I don't blame them, it costs a lot of money to do that. MS gave Intel the choice, support AMDs instruction set, or do without Windows. MS won that battle pretty handily".

- Sun to back AMD Opteron big time!
"From what we hear, this will be followed by a flood of products. The main holdup is Solaris 10, but when that OS is done baking, expect the floodgates of Operon products to stream out of that tier 1 manufacturer. This is only the tip of the iceberg as far as products are concerned. ". Read here

09/25/03 - nVENTIV Mach II: The Athlon 64 FX at 2.8 GHz
"Thus Prescott should be around 4.9 GHz before it beats the Athlon 64 FX at 2.8 GHz. Takes this all with a grain of salt, of course, since Prescott is not the same as a Pentium 4 EE as we explained earlier, but looking at 2.8 GHz numbers it seems that the integrated memory controller is a weapon that becomes more dangerous at higher clock speeds.". 09/25/03 - AMD's chief scientist on smoke and mirrors
"We expect to be producing chips on the 90-nanometre production process in volume by the second half of 2004. We have been making prototypes for some time already.
