09/29/02 - China's 1st server 'Dragon Chip' coming
According to estimation of the Chinese Ministry of Information Industry, the semi market in mainland China will witness an annual growth rate of 35% before 2005 to reach a scale of 40 billion USD with the chips needed to amount to 17 billion pieces. By the year of 2010 China is going to turn out the second large semi market in the world! It now starts producing its own chips like Dragon Chip, a X86 based chip for servers, and Soaring Dragon based on RISC technology. Read more here
