Read here ______________________________________________ 10/14/05 - AMD Reports Record Quarter Advanced Micro Devices Inc. late Tuesday posted a better-than expected profit of $76 million, or 18 cents a share, in the third quarter. That compares with net income of $44 million, or 12 cents, a year ago. Revenue rose 23% to $1.52 billion, thanks to improving sales of chips for computers and corporate servers. The results blew past analysts expectations for a profit of 8 cents on revenue of $1.378 billion.
