- AMD Sempron 3000+
AMD quietly released the 3000+ version of the new best seller Sempron and we have some more information that will compensate AMD's silent launch. First you'll be interested to learn that
Sempron 3000+ has a  Barton core running a bit slower than Athlon XP 3000+ cousin (2GHz vs 2.167GHz). The Sempron 3000+ was first used by HP in a SR1215CL you can admire here and then started to show up in stores like the one here. On the tech side, we found nothing better than an AMD data sheet located here and a supreme CPUZ shot sent by Raul, and finally placed here

Tatung  is introducing a new 64-bit capable ultra-dense blade server that accommodates up to 10 independent dual processor server blades in a single 4U form factor chassis. The
TUD-4010OP features integrated switch blades, management blades, and server blades that support up to 200 AMD Opteron processors per standard 42U rack. - Radeon Xpress 200 AMD K8 chipsets
DigiTimes reports that ATI chipset for AMD64 CPUs will ship in volume in mid-november and gives the final names of both chipsets: RS480 is now Radeon Xpress 200G and RX480 is Radeon Xpress 200: "The Radeon Xpress 200-series chipsets are ATI’s first chipsets to support the AMD K8 platform. They will compete with the Nvidia nForce 4 series and the K8T890 K8 chipsets from VIA". See more here

AMD's slow but steady market share gains
Michael Kanellos, the all-time CNET AMD fan, has some interesting datas about AMD growing
market shares: "AMD, in fact, is still recovering market share it lost during the years it had to delay the Opteron and Athlon 64 and periodically clean out excess inventories. In the first quarter of 2002, it had 18.2 percent share; in the first quarter of 2003, it had 16.6 percent market share". Read more here

- Spansion enters serial flash memory market
Spansion announced an entirely new Flash memory family designed to reduce costs and dramatically simplify system design of Flash-enabled consumer electronics, PC peripherals, and in-cabin automotive electronics. The new Spansion FL Flash memory family enables these improvements by using the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), an emerging serial communication standard with rapid projected Flash memory market growth from nearly $500 million in 2005 to more than $1 billion in 2007. - Future of the PC: Intel & AMD
Firing Squad is sharing his view about past, present and future of AMD and Intel to conclude that dual core is a no brainer: "Among us, the hardcore enthusiasts, AMD is the preferred choice at the moment. A recent poll on Firing Squad showed that 66% of all our readers who voted in the poll were running an Athlon processor, compared to only 34% who had an Intel chip.". Read more here
