- Gigabyte 7VAXP KT400 mainboard review

- SiS plans changed: What to expect?
Many changes in SiS' Intel chipsets roadmap as reported by Xbitlabs where the latest about AMD chipsets is also mentioned with some minor changes like the arrival of the last SiS chipset for XP. Called SiS746DX, this chipset  will handle DDR400. Read more

- Athlon XP 1700+ Tbred core with KT400
Digital Daily is testing the new Thoroughbred XP 1700+ with KT400 motherboard and the results are quite impressive. The chip, with unlocked multiplier performs nicely and cost less than equivalent Intel Celeron:
"No doubt, buying the lower-end Athlon XP Thoroughbred processors is a very attractive option. They are cheaper than their direct competitors (Intel Celeron) and provide a higher performance". Read the full review here

- Noise threatens Moore’s Law
Thanks to HardOCP we have a very interesting link about thermal noise which could put an end to the most famous Moore's Law. - AMD got Gold Awards from inquirer
"Even though AMD is going through one of its periodic downs, it managed to intro a few surprises and gave Intel a run for its money. AMD finally realised that it had to use 333 MHz buses with its Athlons and the 2700+, the fastest AMD desktop chip so far, significantly improved performance and gave us the fastest processor that we've seen. It gets the gold gong for the Athlon 2700+". Here

- Prudential cuts AMD outlook
Prudential analyst Hans Mosesmann had cut his outlook on AMD as a "housekeeping measure". Mosesmann widened his loss view for 2003 to $0.75 a share from a loss of $0.45 a share. The analyst cut his earnings outlook for 2004 to $0.30 a share from $0.45 a share.

here, a "Turbo mode" on Canterwood: a mysterious feature which will boost i875P chipset. Second, here and here,  an army of Springdale and Canterwood chipsets with FSB at 800MHz coupled with DDR400 for increasing the performances and thus, allowing the firm to remain competitive in front of upcoming Athlon 64 and Opteron processors...
